When Eddie Manuel Sotiangco came to America in 1966, his main

“I am still finding the day to day operations of my businesses as challenging as when I first started them,”
remarked Eddie. “In my insurance company, I envision to operate in areas where Filipinos are heavily
concentrated. I would like to create employment opportunities to our compatriots by bringing my businesses
to their local community.”

Association of Life Underwriters (GBLUA); National Qualifier, NALU, since 1975; National Sales Achievement
Award Qualifier since 1975; Top Pension Producer, U.S. Life; Most Outstanding Filipino-American
Businessman of California, 1976; President, Filipino Businessmen Association of Los Angeles; and,
Community Awardee, Philippine Medical Society.

Eddie’s father was the late Faustino Sotiangco and his mother was the late former Cipriana Manuel both from
Binalonan, Pangasinan. Eddie finished his high school from Binalonan High School in 1954 as First Honor of
his class. Immediately after high school, he moved to Manila to complete his education. Eddie completed his
Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1959. In 1963, he completed his Bachelor of Laws, LL.B., from San
Sebastian College.
His wife is the former Gloria Delgado, daughter of Jose Delgado and the former Felicitas Herrera, both from
Samar Province in the Philippines.

Twenty Outstanding Filipino-Americans of FIL-AM IMAGE,” declared one of the awardees from California
during a sumptuous get-together dinner at the Los Angeles Athletic Club hosted by former Mayor G. Monty
