Jett S. Mora Westmont, Illinois Community Leader Extraordinaire - Spearheader of Fundraising Projects
|
It's a long way from Tarlac, Philippines to Beverly Hills, California,
especially for someone who used to walk four miles each day to
school. But Jett Mora's humble beginning gave him a sense of
pride in his endeavors and his passion for success. He put al l
that to good use on the road to the American Dream.
Today, Jett Mora is the president of Incomvest Properties, Inc., a
full-service real estate investment enterprise specializing in the
acquisition, renovation and sale of income properties for
investors. Recognized as an industry leader, he has owned,
operated and managed over $150 million in quality real estate
assets during the last 16 years.
The eldest in a closely knit family of ten, Jett was born in the
province of Tarlac , Pampanga. His parents were local merchants
whose belief in the importance of education and hard work left a
lasting impression.
A diligent student, Jett graduated from the University o f the East
in Manila with a business degree and then went on to graduate
school for his MA in Economics while working parttime. He soon
landed a managerial position in the field of marketing, media, and

consumer research. He worked for two of the largest advertising and public relations agencies in the
Philippines for several years.
In 1968, Jett and his wife Priscila immigrated to Canada and lived in Toronto for one year before moving to
San Francisco, California. After two fruitless months of job hunting, the family moved to Los Angeles. By then
Jett had only $700 to his name.
With two young children, the family tried to make both ends meet in an $80 a month studio just behind the
Ambassador Hotel. Except for some small jobs that would come his way every now and then, Jett was
virtually unemployed for two years. But true to his roots he persevered.
One day in 1971, a newspaper caught his eye. The offer was for a free real estate licensing course and the
promise of work. It was too good to be true, but Jett took the course and passed the state exam. True
enough, he soon learned that the work promised him involved the selling of highly speculative land to novice
investors. He left to seek greener pastures. With brand new license, Jett now had his rite of passage to the
real promised land of the real estate world. Without a track record in sales and his inexperience in real
estate, Jett virtually begged for acceptance into established real estate firms. But a Japanese-American
company, Kashu Realty, took a chance on him. Within a year, Jett knew he had the makings of a good real
estate salesman. In fact, an excellent one. He sold 44 properties in a six-month period. Jett had finally found
his bearings.
By 1973, realizing that by selling much larger apartment buildings his commissions would skyrocket, Jett
joined the much respected Wagner Jacobsen Company. During his second year there, Jett broke the
company's 20-year sales record.
Jett was on his way to the realization of his American Dream. Having tasted the fruits of his labor and seen
first hand the unlimited potential of real estate investment, Jett opened in 1975 his own real estate investment
business, Jett Mora & Company. The following year he became an American cititzen. The years of
perseverance and hard work had paid off.
After only two years years, Jett's company was already managing millions of dollars in quality real estate
assets. In the early eighties, following his progressive path, Jett reorganized his business into the much
larger Incomvest Properties.
Ask Jett today if he has arrived and he will tell you, "this is just the beginning." Indeed, Jett is just beginning.
With the real estate crunch affecting his business and holdings, Jett looked around for other ventures. He
diversified in to computer software programming sales by forming another California corporation solely for
that purpose, hiring top Filipino computer wizrds to do the techincal side of ther business while he takes care
of marketing and sales. He develved into international and is now negotiating, as the sole representative in
the United States for the China's largest provincem Schuntung, multi-billiono dollars transactions.
Jett Mora is currently the president of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, Calif.
