“My dream is to some day produce a Filipino-Canadian whose
talent, expertise and patriotism will be as great and comparable to
Philippine heroes such as Jose Rizal whose education was
acquired from abroad, explained Chito Collantes in an exclusive
interview recently in Toronto immediately after he received an
award as one of the ten outstanding Filipino-Canadians.
“Canada’s educational system is one of the best globally, and the
numbers of young students from the Philippines are now flocking
by the droves to this country.”
Indeed, Chito’s authoritative statement on the subject has lots of
truth and credibility. An immigrant himself from Tanauan,
Batangas, Philippines who came to Canada in November 1973,
he is the founder of Canada Worldwide Student Service Inc.
(CWSS), a very successful venture specializing in bringing
immigrants and student from around the world to Canada. As
president and chief-executive –office of CWSS, Chito’s eight full-
time employees work around the clock contacting prospective
clients from all over the world. “My main thrust is the Philippines.
I am sincere in assisting worthy young students to come to
Canada and further their education. I am also particular in
helping young Filipino professionals who are currently part of

Philippines’ overseas contract orders to settle in Canada in order to have a better opportunity in life.”
With the Canadian Government recognizing his talents and supporting his endeavor to bring to Canada
quality immigrants and student, Chito utilizes to the hilt his extensive experience in bringing them to Canada.
In an array of languages and style, he has encouraged and claimed responsibility in the increase influx of
students worldwide and have been instrumental in lifting poverty through education, yielding favorable results
and in convincing evidence of a more productive and capable citizens.
Canada Worldwide Student Services Inc. is the first, and considered as a pioneer in Canada, is an integral
part of a consulting network which Chito founded and established in 1991, to enable and assist those who
wish not only to migrate in Canada, but also to broaden their background in the arts of high technology and
computerized environment. After a year in operation, he expanded the services of CWSS to include all
students from ages 10-48 years old or even older.
Supported and associated with immigration personnel and qualified professional specialists, Chito
personally roams around the world offering CWSS’s services and working closely with Canadian’s foreign
service offices in various countries. Encouraged and appreciated by the Canadian Foreign Office, CWSS is
able to provide a spectrum of personalized services in the field of education, immigration, planning, and
settlement.
Since 1991, thousands of Filipinos coming from the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Australia, Hong
Kong, Sri Lanka, Greece, France, Kuwait, Nigeria, Pakistan, Italy and various other countries were there a
Filipino contract workers. Over the ears, the Pearson International Airport in Toronto has been the scene of
much happy and tearful reunion of Filipinos arriving for the first time and their relatives in Canada who had
practically given no hope of ever reuniting with long lost relatives. CWSS’s success in preparing the proper
documentation acceptable to the Canadian Immigration has brought about enormous happiness among
relative and friends of those immigrants and students, who were successful in establishing themselves in
Canada. To many, from domestic employees, clerical workers and other white collar job-holders, CWSS
signals a new beginning and a ray of hope to their dream, ambition and aspirations for their loved ones.
CWSS carefully pre-screens student clienteles as required and mandated by the Canadian Immigration
Students Eligibility Criteria (CISEC). Specializing in meeting the requirement of CISEC, Canada Worldwide

Prior to establishing CWSS, Chit was affiliated with Grolier Limited as it Division Manager. Prior to Grolier, he
was district sales manager for P.F. Collier and Son. He also worked as administrator in Systems Network
Communications with Crown Life Insurance.
Known for his philanthropic generosity, Chit devotes his extra time in assisting the Filipino-Canadian
communities across Canada. He is the current President of Philippine Executive Club of Greater Toronto;
Athletic Director of Bahamian Athletic Association; Chairman of the Youth Division of the North American
Basketball Association; and various other civic and cultural groups in Canada.
A Mechanical Engineer graduate from Far Eastern University in Manila, Chit is from Tanoan, Battings. His
parents are Isidro Silverado Collates and Petra Alabaman, both of Tanoan, Battings. He is married to the
former Aurora McFarland Jar of Taliban, Elite. They have three children: Don Chito, 15; Prinz Thomas, 11; and
Cristina, 9. #
