|
Ramon Z. Nacilla is a dentist by profession and owns his
successful General Dental Practice in Los Angeles. In spite of
his hectic and heavily spaced schedules taking care of his legion
of dental patients, Ramy, as his friends call him, gives back to
the community all of his spare time as well as generously taking
off from his practice without any hesitancy when he is called upon
to volunteer his services. “He is very sincere and diligent in his
responsibilities as a national leader of nationwide organizations,”
declared Los Angeles businessman Henry Seno, a 1997
awardee of the Twenty Outstanding Filipino-Americans (TOFA)
who highly recommended Ramy. “He is an asset and a treasure
of the Filipino community globally.”
Indeed, Dr. Ramon Z. Nacilla is super-active and very visible with
various national organizations and humanitarian projects. He is
currently the national president of the National Association of
Filipino Dentists in America (NAFDA); national vice president of

the National Association of Cebuanos-USA; chairman of NAFDA Convention for 1998 in San Francisco;
chairman of Centennial NAFDA Participation Committee; active member of Argawanons USA; board
member of National Cebu Brotherhood, Inc.; co-chair of the Integrated Preventive Dental Health Program for
the Philippines; and other national groups or projects.
“There is only a handful of Filipino national leaders who can be depended on and are consistently providing
and/or spearheading community leadership year after year. Ramy Nacilla is on top of the list,” added Henry
Seno.
Ramy migrated to the United States in 1972, ten years after being the corporate dentist of various
corporations, including Aguinaldo Corporation. Residing in Los Angeles since his first arrival to this
country, Dr. Nacilla has been consistently building legions of non-Filipino patients since he first began his
dental practice in 1979. Seven years prior to his dental practice, Ramy Nacilla took various jobs with several
companies in order to survive in America. He was assistant office supervisor for Devonshire Cov. Corp.;
Marketing/Claims/Subro Rep for Atlantic Richfield Corp.; Medical/Dental Claims Analyst for SPNB Corp.;
Claims Rep/Clerical Supervisor for Commercial Adjusting Service.
Ramy graduated from PJC High School in Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur. He acquired his Associate in Arts
from Southwestern University and his degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of the East in
1962. One of the six siblings of Daniel Nacilla of Argad, Cebu and Segundina Nacilla of Tolosa, Leyte, Ramy
spent most of his time in the Visayan region of the Philippines. During heydays from high school to college,
he was active with student leadership having been elected class president for an unprecedented two
years in a row- - junior and senior years. He was active with the Supreme Student Council PI-Visayas Region
and Student Leaders (MPM) for President Movement PI.
His wife, the former Bernardita Ezpeleta of Igbaras, Iloilo, is a medical secretary at a hospital ICU ward
section. The Nacillas have an only child, Jacqueline Nacilla, 25.#
