Larry B. Hidalgo San Jose, California A Man of Inspiration and Accomplished District Governor Of 4-C6 Lions Club International

Larry was born in the Philippines and move to Junction City,
Kansas. Upon his dad’s retirement from the US Army, the family
moved to San Francisco, CA. He attended local schools, received
his BSEE (Electrical Engineering) from the University of California
at Berkeley, and attended postgraduate studies at Loyola
University at Marymount, and at the University of Santa Clara. He
is presently employed by General Dynamics. Larry is married to
Martie, and they have a son, Eric.
Larry was initially inducted to Lionism joining Maharlika Lions in
1994. With only 3 years in Lionism, he formed with others the
San Jose North Valley Lions where he became the charter 1st
Vice President. Positions held at the club level include member
of the Board of Directors, Vice-President and President.
As time moves on so does Lion Larry. He became involved at the
Distric level where hi first appointment was a member of the
Membership Committee, and on the following year, member of
the Hearing Committee. In the ensuing yearsk he served as a
Zone Chair, Bulletin Editor, Retention Chair, Leadership Chair
and most importantly, as a Cabinet Governor in 2003.

By serving the MD-4 level, his experience has also been enhanced. He was a member and eventually the
Senior Member of the Long Range Planning Committee. He had attended international conventions, and was
a guest of honor and speaker at the Joint Fellowship Program of Zone 3, District 301-C Philippines.
Larry is a graduate of the Lions Club International Leadership Institute, and a recipient of the MD-4 Excellence
Award, 2 International President ‘s Certificate of Appreciation, International President's Leadership Medal, and
a Melvin Jones Fellow.
Outside the Lions, he had served as the President of the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce; member of
Technical Advisory Panel of the Office of Economic Management, City of San Jose; Committee Member of the
United Way’s Incubator program. Through his community service, he was conferred upon and awarded by the
Board of Santa Clara County Supervisors the Human Relations Award in 1996.
