EMMANUEL Y. ANGELES, Ph.D.
Dr. Angeles is a lawyer by profession, having obtained his
Bachelor of Laws at the Ateneo and Harvarian Law Schools
in 1960 and his Master of Laws and Doctor of Philosophy in
Political Science at the University of Santo Tomas in 1968
and 1971, respectively.  An educator by vocation, being the
second president of the Angeles University Foundation, and
holder of a post-graduate studies in Educational
Management at the Harvard University Institute of
Educational Management, he continues to serve the local,
national and international communities as incumbent
President and Chairman of the Board of the Angeles
University Foundation Medical Center; Immediate Past
President of the Central Luzon Association of Higher
Education Institutions; Immediate Past National President
and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Private
Schools Athletics Association; Immediate Past President
and Ex-Officio Board Member of the Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific, the first Filipino
to assume such position; and former Honorary Consul of the State of Eritrea to the Philippines.

In September 1999, he was appointed by President Joseph E. Estrada as Member of the Preparatory
Commission on Constitutional Reforms (PCCR) which was tasked to study the economic provisions
of the 1987 Constitution.

From March 13, 2001 to March 15, 2005, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Clark
Development Corporation.  Him at the helm of CDC, he steered Clark into becoming as a world-class
aviation and economic hub in South East Asian region.  He also served as President and CEO of
Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) from May 13, 2001 to June 2002 and Director of the
North Luzon Railways Corporation (Northrail) from April 24, 2002 to March 15, 2005.

In November 2004, Dr. Angeles organized and launched the Movement for a Strong Philippines
(MSP), a non political, non-partisan organization which envision to foster awareness on the role of the
Filipino Youth in bringing forth changes for a just, peaceful and strong nation through education and
training, communication and leadership formation.

On May 25, 2005, he took oath as the First Chancellor of Angeles University Foundation and
committed himself to the societal transformation thrust of the University.

On September 12, 2005, he was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as Member of the
Consultative Commission to propose revision to the 1987 Constitution.

Recipient of five (5) honorary degrees and five (5) honorary professorship from prestigious
universities in Europe and the Asia Pacific Region, he has been duly recognized for his outstanding
achievements, having received several distinguished awards, such as:  Ten Outstanding Young Men
(TOYM) Award in Social Education in 1971;  Papal Award of the Noble Knighthood of the Pontifical
order of St. Sylvestre in 1983;  Most Outstanding Kapampangan in Private Education in 1987;  Ulirang
Ama Award for Education in 1987;  and the Outstanding Thomasian Alummnus Award in Education,
given by the University of Santo Tomas in 1999, among others.

He is happily married to anesthesiologist, Dr. Cornelia Lukban-Angeles and blessed with three
children who are all lawyers, namely, Sofia Grace, Joseph Emmanuel (married to Atty. Elizabeth B.
Angeles) and Gabriel Martin.
