Born in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental to parents Jaime
C. Dacanay and Angeles M. Jereza. Bob’s elementary
education began at De La Salle College in Bacolod. He
moved to Makati with his family where he completed High
School at the Colegio de San Agustin. Bob pursued a
degree in Economics at De La Salle University.
In 1978, Bob moved to the United States to pursue a
Doctoral Degree in Experimental Psychology at The
American University in Washington DC. As a research
assistant, he authored/co-authored ten research
publications in the areas of psycho pharmacology,
conditioning and learning. He received the Hall of Nations
award for three years, Graduate fellowship award for five
years and a Dissertation Fellowship award.
While completing his masters and doctorate degrees, Bob was also a Research Associate at the
U.S. Army Research Institute where he participated in the development of an
Intelligent-Computer Based Training System using artificial intelligence technologies. It is this
interest in artificial intelligence, learning, and computers that influenced his career move from
academic research to Information Technology.
Upon receiving his doctorate in 1986, Bob joined a Washington DC-based Information
Technology consulting firm. He worked on a number of Federal and Department of Defense
contracts. He was quickly promoted to Project Manager during his tenure.
In 1989, he joined a Small Disadvantaged business to manage the development and operations
of a nation-wide claims and debt management system. After quickly increasing the business
base of the corporation, he was promoted to Director of Marketing.
In 1993, Bob led a global information technology modernization program with the Orkand
Corporation. As Vice President, he managed a global operation to transform the legacy systems
of the Department of State to modern technologies. The success of the program was recognized
by Government Computer News (GCN), awarding the Agency Award in 1997. His experience in
managing a global development and operations organization led to his idea of starting his own
company.
In 1998, Bob founded Primescape Solutions Inc, an employee-oriented organization focused on
delivering innovative technology-enabled business solutions. Primescape offers a full range of
Information Technology solutions and services to the Federal Government, Department of
Defense, and commercial clients. Over the last ten years, Bob has led the exceptional growth of
Primescape to be one of the leading Information Technology companies. In 2005 and 2006,
Primescape ranked in the Inc 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America. Primescape was also
ranked 22 in Washington Technology Fast 50 Government Contractors in 2006.
Bob is a member of the American Council for Technology, Industry Advisory Council and Vistage
International.
Bob resides in Virginia with his wife Rica Lim their children James and Christina.
