Ador S. Carreon
Community Leader, Current President, Philippine American
Foundation for Charities, Inc. (PAFC)
Dominador S. Carreon (popularly known as “Ador”) was born
and raised in Cavite City, and educated in Manila, Philippines,
where he attended Feati University.

He joined the United States Navy in 1967 where he served in
various commands and flagships with the Seventh Fleet in the
Pacific, including staff assignments in Japan; Hawaii; Norfolk,
Virginia; Rhode Island; and Washington, DC.

Ador received several awards, e.g., Meritorious Service Medal;
Navy Commendation Medal w/ 2 Gold Stars; Navy Achievement
Medal; Navy Unit Commendation Medal; Armed Forces
Expeditionary Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Humanitarian
Service Medal; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After 30 years of distinguished and honorable service in the United States Navy, Ador retired on
November 24, 1997, at which time he had attained the highest enlisted rank of Master Chief
Petty Officer.

Following his retirement from military service, Ador worked in the U.S. Department of the
Treasury as the Financial Operations Manager in charge of the daily financial operation of the
Executive Dining Room. He has proudly served six Treasury Secretaries from Robert Rubin to the
current Secretary, Timothy Geithner.

Ador served as Post Commander of VFW Post 5471 for two consecutive years, 2004-2005 and
2005-2006.  Under his leadership, the Post received the National Outstanding Community
Service Post Award due to the countless service hours that the Post has provided to the
community.  At the end of his tenure, Ador was named an All State Post Commander.

In 2007, he was elected to the highest department position in the VFW organization as
Department Commander of the District of Columbia. Because of his diligence in making the
Department of the District of Columbia the first among the 52 departments to attain 100%
membership, Ador was named an All American State Commander.   After hosting the Loyalty Day
(the last event of his administration), Ador and the 29 other State Commanders, as well as their
spouses, were awarded a much deserved one week South Caribbean cruise.

Prior to becoming President of the Philippine American Foundation for Charities, Inc. (PAFC) in
January 2008, Ador served as its Vice President for Internal Affairs. He was the Overall Chairman
of the Philippine Festival Committee 2005 (PFC 2005), and under his able leadership, fundraising
hit its highest level since the inception of the PAFC in 1997.  Ador was also awarded a resolution
by the Maryland State Senate in recognition of his leadership in bringing back the Philippine
Festival from Montgomery County to Prince Georges County.

Ador is a strong supporter of Feed the Hungry, Inc and the Philippine American Medical Mission of
Mercy of Metropolitan Washington DC, Inc.  He helped raise funds for these two organizations by
relying on friends’ support and by organizing fundraising events, e.g., golf tournaments and
excursions to Atlantic City.

Despite his busy schedule, Ador has not forgotten the plight of the poor in his adopted
hometown in Padre Garcia, Batangas, Philippines.  His dream is to make a difference in the lives
of the less fortunate populace.

Ador and his lovely wife, Nanette, travel yearly to the Philippines to implement the worthy
project of gift-giving - providing school supplies to 200 indigent children and basic hygiene and
health supplies to 50 senior citizens.  This gift-giving project is undertaken in collaboration with
volunteers from the Feed the Hungry, Inc.of Metropolitan Washington, DC area and the Manila-
based Commission on Filipino Overseas.

Ador initiated, in July 2006,  a Cattle Feeding Program in Padre Garcia, Batangas, Philippines with
assistance from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Social Welfare and
Development.  Under this program, 42 unemployed farmers were given a calf (young cattle)
each, and each farmer was responsible for herding his calf until the calf doubled its original
weight and value and was ready to be sold for profit.  Seventy percent of the proceeds go to the
farmer, out of which 10% is allocated to their children’s education scholarship fund.  The
remaining 30% of the proceeds go to the calf provider.  The cycle starts again with the purchase
of calves, and so on and so forth.  And the profit-sharing project continues.

On February 8, 2009 Ador and Nanette were married in a Catholic Church wedding ceremony in
Padre Garcia, Batangas, Philippines.  The monetary wedding gifts they received were generously
donated towards the purchase of medical equipment for the district hospital in Lipa City, where
the Philippine Medical Mission of Mercy of Metropolitan Washington DC, Inc. conducted their
mission in February. The couple also donated a laptop computer to the Department of Social
Welfare and Development and a typewriter to the local police department in Padre Garcia,
Batangas.

Ador and Nanette reside in Fort Washington, Maryland.
