Poor and Helping the Poor Street
Children in Metro Manila. On the
business side, Jesse and his
business partner  also received
special recognitions for having
produced high quality
entertainment shows  at the
prestigious Warner Theater

in the Metro D.C. area. Their
entertainment Concerts up to this

overwhelming support from the Fil-
Am community.

In 2006, he and four (4) other
community leaders and one
Philippine diplomat co-founded the
Migrant Heritage Commission
(MHC), a leading non-governmental
organization in the U.S. capital
region acclaimed for addressing the
growing concerns of immigrants in
need in a timely manner. The
service-oriented NGO fulfilled one of
Mr. Gatchalian’s vision for serving
the community in a timely manner
without any quid pro quo. He is one
of the three (3) Executive Directors
of MHC who has been tediously
implementing the service-oriented
tasks of MHC. Being the reserved
type of person,  he will  maintain a
low profile amidst all  community
limelight.  Guided by his principles,
he abides always by MHC’s slogan of ‘Living a life that matters” that every opportunity to help within the legal
bounds should continuously inspire a person, regardless of his status or his background and that there should be
no stratifications  when it comes to helping people. He has always been pro-people and has quite an aversion to
elitists in the community.

Being a strong advocate for Unity and Service, he urges  community members and leaders  to rise above the moral
grounds and differences in principles and continuously work for unity and for the common good of the community
with no hidden agenda nor self-promotion interests.
