When Marie Rosete’s name was called to receive the “Administrator of the Year in Illinois 2006” award given
by the Illinois Health Care Association in Springfield, IL. very recently, she almost cried.
The only Filipina among the group, she was very thankful to be a Filipino. She says, “Filipino nurses give
more than 101% of our best in every aspect of our profession and we always aim for the best because of our
passion and dedication to work. Working in the field of nursing and management is one of the most
stressful professions we have in the industry, but I think what is most fulfilling is not only giving your best but
at the same time loving what you do under the guidance of the ONE ABOVE.”
Currently working as the administrator of Alden Long Grove where she is happier administering to the quality
of life of the residents. Prior to this, she received three awards as the administrator of Alden of Des Plaines
during the company’s Recognition Day in 2003— Customer Service of the year 2003; General Satisfaction
for Overall Customer Service Award 2003; and Clinical Services Award (Nursing) 2003 as the Director of
Nursing. The facility went from 50% to almost 95% occupied, it was the top facility throughout the 31 Alden
homes.
Marie came to the U.S. in 1992 and was petitioned by Peterson Park Health Care Center. She worked there
for almost nine years while venturing in some other nursing homes, and later decided to advance her skills
in nursing management.
In 1999, she accepted the supervisory position in Manor Care of Arlington Heights and later was promoted to
work as the ADON in Manor Care of Libertyville. Wanting to move on to a different position and in her
eagerness to grow professionally, she decided to accept the Director of Nursing position in Alden of Des
Plaines Rehabilitation Center.
A Cum Laude graduate in the field of nursing from the University of St. LaSalle in Bacolod, Philippines in
1991, she received her first Clinical Award from the said university. She was part of the group who took and
passed the last written Nursing Board Examination in the Philippines.
Marie is thankful for the management of Alden Services headed by Floyd Schlossberg (President) and her
mentors, CEO Bob Molitor and VP Carrie Di Paolo for all their support and faith in her skills and abilities to
manage their homes. An Ilonga born in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental in 1970. She is happily married to
Jerry Rosete and they two children, Kelly Marie and Jermaine, 4 years old. The Rosete’s live in Gurnee,
Illinois
