Deputy Consul General Mary Jo Bernanrdo Aragon is a career diplomat with the
rank of Chief of Mission II. She joined the Foreign Service twenty-seven yeas ago.
Before assuming her post at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles,
Mrs. Aragon held the position of Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs
(2005-2006).  Other position held in the Home Office were as Special Assistant to
the Undersecretary for Administration (2001-2005 and 1992-1994), Executive
Director of the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination (1990-1991), Principal
Assistant and then as Acting Director of the Office of Policy Planning and
Coordination (1979-1982).

until her assignment to  Canada in October 2005.

Jose S. Brillantes, Philippine Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to
Canada was an Undersecretary (Deputy Minister) of Foreign Affairs immediately
prior to his appointment as Ambassador. He was elected Member and
Vice-chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Protection of the Rights of
All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families, was Philippine Ambassador to
Malaysia, former Secretary of Labor and Employment, and former Undersecretary of
Labor for Employment Promotion and Manpower Development. His professional
career covers extensive exposure in politics, law, legislation, public and
interpersonal relations, and national and international diplomacy.
