Kerby Salazar Arreglo is the newly appointed official Middle East news correspondent for the FILIPINO
IMAGE Magazine and the PINOY GLOBAL ONLINE NEWS, a 24/7 media both base in Washington, D.
C., and serving the Filipinos globally. He is affectionately called "Kerbs" by legion of friends in the Middle
East. In 1994, immediately after completion of his college education, he joined his father and other
members of the Arreglo family who migrated to Saudi Arabia as early as 1984. He joined his father's
firm, Arabian Services Company (ASC), providing services for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by hiring
contract workers from different countries and provide all the manpower needed in the Middle East, including
providing the manpower for the civilians working at the U.S. Armed Forces Military bases in the region.
After 12 years of dedication to his various positions, Kerby was recently promoted to the prestigious
position as the Recreation Manager for the huge U.S. Base in Riyadh. Among others, he is tasked of
planning and providing creational activities as well as managing all the creational facilities for the gigantic
U.S. Bases in the region.
Kerby's father, Tirso Cometa Arreglo is married to the former Leticia Salazar , both originated from
Cebu, Philippines. He has two sisters: Leslie, 34, and Gaye, 26. Kerby's wife is the former Charina
Ancheta of Caloocan City who is sponsored to work in Saudi Arabia by Princess Nourah Al Saud of the
Royal Family in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Kerbs and Charina have two children: Jecko Lorenzo, 6,
and Chelsea Nour, 3. The entire Arreglo family are all residents of Riyadh, and are all employed with the
Arabian Service Company as civilian employees assigned to U.S. Military bases. Kerby's wife, Charina
works as a nurse at Obagi Hospital in Riyadh.
Kerbs graduated at Balingasa High School in Quezon City in 1989. He completed his college education
from Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 1994 as a computer programmer. His hobbies are
playing basketball, tinkering with computers, and is handy with camera that whenever Filipinos get
together to celebrate any kind of occasions, Kerby is expected to take the souvenir pictures.
"The Filipinos in the Middle East are strict in following the rules and regulations imposed by the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia. We are provided with all kinds of comfort and are given the opportunity to celebrate activities
that are usually common in the Philippines," explain Kerbs, who for the past few years have spearheaded
basketball tournaments and other sporting activities around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the
neighboring areas in the Middle East.
As the official Middle East news correspondent for FILIPINO IMAGE Magazine and the 24/7 PINOY
GLOBAL ONLINE NEWS, Kerby will be covering the functions and activities undertaken by the Philippine
Diplomatic establishments in the Middle East. His main base of operations will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
