GMA to name next chief justice before May 10  
MANILA, Philippines - President Arroyo could appoint the next chief justice
before the May 10 elections, Malacañang said yesterday.
Deputy presidential spokesman Gary Olivar made the disclosure following
reports that the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) was set to come up with a
shortlist of candidates to succeed Chief Justice Reynato Puno, who retires
on May 17.

While I was in the ER of St. Vincent Hospital, SI, the voice came back to me
and said "you must be a deacon."   I thought it was a command.  After I got
better [from low back sprain]     I call Deacon Cassaneto  and he advise me
to see him in his office.  On the appointed day it raining so heavy, that it
took me 3 hours to reach the seminary just to have a brief dialogue with
Deacon Cassaneto.

Congressional canvass moved up to May 24   
MANILA, Philippines - Eight of the 12 winning candidates for the Senate will
be proclaimed in record time today by the Commission on Elections, but the
nation will have to wait another week before Congress begins canvassing
votes for president and vice president.

The final report on the Typhoon Ondoy calamity assistance in which you
were of a big help is being finalized now, which will cover all our emergency
assistance including our rehabilitation projects on areas hit severly by the
disaster. That period of assistance covers from October 6, 2009 to May 10,
2010. We received a total of approximately $106,000 and spent
approximately $108,000 for Typhoon Ondoy, Pepeng donations.

kids, as proposed by Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral, is like spoon-
feeding children pornography at such an early age. The teacher will have to
show the kids sex organs and explain what they are for. Words alone will
not suffice or sink into their innocent minds: she will have to demonstrate
the object itself to convey the message. That’s how preposterous the
suggestion is.

Dahil sa pagkakamtay ng isang testigo ng mga prosecutor laban sa ma
impluwensiyang pamilya sa Maguindanao nag aalala ngayon ang pamilyang
biktima na baka pulutin na lamang sa kangkungan ang paghahabol nila ng
hustisya.

Matapos ang mga batohan nila ng sisi ni atty. Roque  agad na pinag utos
ni  Justice Sec. Alberto Agra sa National Bureau of Investigation na
magsagawa ng malalimang imbestigasyon hingil sa pagkamatay ng isa sa
testigo sa Maguindanao Massacre na si Suwaib Upham o alyas Jessie.
Buhay si Alyas Jessie?
Sakabila ng kaliwa’t kanang sisihan ng Department of Justice at ng
abogadong si Atty. Harry Roque kaugnay sa pagkamatay ni alyas Jessie na
magdidiin umano sa pamilya ampatuan hingil sa pagpatay sa 57 katao
kabilang na ang 32 mamahayag.

are dreams. These alliterations bring us to the reality that big aspirations
may take light-years to materialize, if that is possible. To expect president-
elect Benign “Noynoy” Aquino III to walk the talk of erasing the chronic
malady of corruption that ruined presidents before him, is asking for the
moon to turn silver tomorrow. It is as absurd as the fight that never was of
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. It was fought through insulting press releases
not in the ring because Floyd hightailed like a cowering mouse.
