Impossible Dream: GMA Quits  9/3/2008 9:00 AM ET

NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (PinoyGlobal) -Since 1993, 10 prime ministers of
Japan have resigned without being pushed between the wall and the
sword by the aggrieved citizens. Motto propio they did it giving premium
to national welfare before personal and or political interest. The latest is
Yasuo Fukuda who is barely a year in office. He resigned a few days ago.
I might say he followed the example of his predecessor Shinzo Abe who
was only one year prime minister when he stepped down after feeling
inadequate to the daily challenges besetting his high office.

percent of the Lakas members to form a coalition with the Nacionalista
Party (NP) of Senate President Manuel Villar; the Nationalist People’s
Coalition (NPC) and party-list organizations.

Come Dream With Me  9/4/2008 1:00 PM ET

NEW YORK, N.Y., Sept. 4 (PinoyGlobal) - The rebellion in Mindanao is a
social problem and can only be solved if the government does its
homework.  Surrendering the northern portion of that island to the
Muslims as Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo suggests, is dismembering the
Philippines. It would actually shrink the country and for what when the
Muslims are not even satisfied as seen by the war they have been
waging against the government these past months. That solution is
unwise, impractical and would further divide the nation because if it is
done the sequestered part of Mindanao will be a separate country with
every right to defy the Philippine government for real and or imaginary
reason/s..

Who Can We Turn To?    9/15/2008 11:00 AM ET

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 (PinoyGlobal) - My late father, who was a legal
luminary when the law profession was a respected institution and
shysters, pettifoggers and ambulance chasers were unheard of, used to
tell me public officials are honorable people and that the primary
function of government is to protect the citizenry. I never dreamed of the
day when I will see my beloved father’s doctrine shattered by a
generation of scalawags with official trappings. But to my utter dismay
that bitter day has come, albeit to put things in their right perspective.

Coming Soon: The Crowning Of Queen Gloria I
9/16/2008 1:00 PM ET

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (PinoyGlobal) - At long last the puppets of President
Arroyo in Congress have pulled the rabbit from the tall hat. Headed by
Speaker Prospero Nograles congressmen are finalizing their sordid
intention to revive the Charter change (Cha cha) to crown Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo, Queen Gloria I for life. Through resolution # 737, or
magic wand if you will, the principal author of which is Speaker Nograles,
Gloria’s ascension to the mystical throne has become a probability. The
loaded resolution would obviate the rigamarole of endless electoral
processes by crowning Madam Arroyo queen for life, no questions ask.

Ping Lacson Is In A Demolition Mood   9/23/2008    11:00 PM ET

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (PinoyGlobal) - Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson is spitting
venom at his colleagues in the Senate, and with good cause. He
unearthed insertions in the national budget that dismayed him.
Exacerbating the fire of his temper is that beneath the visible mantle of
irregularities are a lot more of such anom alous insertions. In this
manner some senators get more money because the insertions are done
secretly, he says
