Consul General Olivia Palala calls on the Speaker of the Guam legislature
PR-029-09, 26 January 2009 – Consul General Olivia V. Palala of the Philippine Consulate
General in Agana, called on Speaker Judith Won Pat of the 30th Guam Legislature on 20
January at the Speaker’s office in Agana.
Speaker Won Pat and Consul General Palala discussed several issues concerning Filipinos
on the island, including measures to improve cooperation between the Speaker’s office and
the Philippine Consulate in providing assistance to Filipinos on Guam.
Consul General Palala conveyed her appreciation for the Speaker’s warm welcome and
stressed the importance of strengthening the friendship between the Philippines and Guam.
She likewise gave the Speaker assurances that the Philippine Consulate is always open and
ready to extend its services to those who need it.
Consul Kerwin Orville Tate and Vice Consul Maria Paz Cortes accompanied the Consul
General during the call. END
