A unique celebration of unity and God's grace of
the Fil-Am Community to thank our Creator for the
continuous blessings and guidance for sustained
Immigration of the Filipinos to the U.S. In line with
Migrant Heritage Commission’s institutional
programs, it is also a way of honoring and
saluting the Filipino Migrants for their vital
contributions to the US society and in helping
sustain the Philippine economy.
The very 1st MISA NG BAYAN (People’s Mass) in
Metropolitan Washington D.C. was initiated in
1998 by Rev. Fr. Steve de Leon,SVD with Atty.
Arnedo S. Valera, Mr. Ramon Llamas & other key
members of the Fil-Am community at Christ the
King Church in Silver Spring, MD in conjunction with
the 1998 Philippine Centennial Celebration.
