Today is Thursday 3rd of November, 2009 Sirach 43, 44, 45.
43:1.2.6.7 The clear vault of the sky shines forth like heaven itself, a vision of glory. The orb of the sun, resplendent at its rising: what a wonderful work of the most high ! The moon, too, that marks the changing times, governing the seasons, their lasting sign, By which we know the feast days and fixed dates, this light-giver which wanes in its course: As its name says, each month it renews itself; how wondrous in this change ! Reflections: In the primitive religion, that I will give as my didactic next week, the passage above applies well. (see and read my Psalm for Saturday)
44:19.20.21. Abraham, father of many peoples, kept his glory without stain: He observed the precepts of the Most High, and entered into an agreement with him; In his own flesh he incised the ordinance and when tested he was found loyal. For this reason, God promised him with an oath that in his descendants the nations would be blessed, That he would make him numerous as the grains of dust, and exalt his posterity like the stars; That he would give them an inheritance from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. Reflections: This is what we Christian is afraid off. The promise was for Ismael, the first born from Abraham.
44:22 And for Isaac he renewed the same promise because of Abraham, his father. The covenant with all his forebears was confirmed, and the blessing rested upon the head of Jacob. God acknowledged him as the first born, and gave him his inheritance. He fixed the boundaries for his tribes, and their division into twelve. Reflections: And now here we are, we are the descendants of Isaac as our Christian religion is concern. He too was promised as what Ismael got.
45:25.26 For even his covenant with David, the son of Jesse of the tribe of Judah, Was an individual heritage through one son alone; but the heritage of Aaron is for all his descendants. And now bless the Lord who has crowned you with glory ! May he grant you wisdom of heart to govern his people in justice, Lest their welfare should ever be forgotten, or your authority, throughout all time. Reflections: At this point both the descendants of Ismael and that of Isaac, must understand the meaning of God's promise. Not to be separated, but together share the abundance of the earth and time. Will this ever happen? It will, I personally predicted it will happen when both Islam and Christian embrace each other as one family under God. egv09
Antiphon The Lord is great and worthy to be praised in the city of our God. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey and in preparation for Advent, lets call to mind our sins and ask God's forgiveness, for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy..............Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy.

Psalm 48 The Lord is great and worthy to be praised in the city of our God. His holy mountain rises in beauty, the joy of all the earth.
Psalm prayer Father, the body of your risen Son is the temple not made by human hands and the defending wall of the new Jerusalem. May this holy city, built of living stones, shine with spiritual radiance and witness to your greatness in the sight of all nations.
Almighty Father, remember all those who have died, especially Jesus Lerma, Sr. and Rosemary Gross, that you welcome them in your abode, with your angels and saints in heaven. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon them, Amen.
Lord Jesus, have compassion on all those who are suffering from known ailments. May you heal them in their time of sufferings. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, through the powerful intercession of venerable Pope John Paul II, Saint Padre Pio, and Our Lady of Barangay to whom we pray, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, may you guide and guard, Rev. Marcelo Cabarrubias, that he will continue faithfully, the call to priesthood, and that your wisdom, knowledge and understanding be share to all Christ's people in the Philippines. Congratulations Rev. Marcelo. A friend of mine, Rev. Sergio Mena will be ordained in May in Chicago.
Theotokos, pray for us, and all who call on thee. Amen.
