Psalm 5 -- from the Prayer Desk of Rev. Deacon Gary

Today is Sunday 3rd of January 2010.
We will once more rexamine Psalms as we did before, but at different level of understanding.
God's Word was written to be studied, understood, and applied, and the book of Psalms lends itself most directly to application. We understand the psalms best when we "stand under" them and allow them to flow over us like a rain shower. We may turn to Psalm looking for something, but sooner or later we will meet Someone.
As we read and memorize the psalms, we will gradualy discover how much they are already part of us. They put into words our deepest hurts, longings, thoughts, and prayers.
They gently push us toward being what God designed us to be...people loving and living for him. Psalm 5 "To know how to come to God each day.
Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
Reflections: The secret of a close relationship with God is to pray to him earnestly each morning. In the morning our minds are more free from problems and then we can commit the whole day to God.
Regular communication helps any friendship and is certaintly necessary for a strong relationship with God. We need to communicate with him daily. Do you have a regular time to pray and read God's Words?
