Psalm 30 -- from the Prayer Desk of Rev. Deacon Gary

Today is Friday 8th of January 2010.

Psalm 30
A celebration of God's deliverance.
Earthly security is uncertain, but God is always Faithful.

When I felt secure, I said,
"I will never be shaken."
O Lord, when you favored me,
you made my mountain stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
I was dismayed.
Reflections:
Wealth, power and fame can be intoxicating, making us feel self-reliant, self-secure and independent of
God. But this is false security of prosperity. (you hide your face)
I know some Filipinos who, when they earn some wealth, or become a president of an "Organization" think
they have attained so much and become proud, (mata pobre at sublado).
This is not what God wants us to do. Always think of leaving a legacy for others to follow.  In other words, "If
you want to have pride in something, you need to do something for which you can be proud."

Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of my prayers.

Have a nice day,
Deacon Gary
