Today is Friday 22nd, January 2010.
When Someone You Love is Suffering. I could not take off my mind from those suffering victims of grief from the lost of love ones, lost of property, and lost of hope as a result of the earthquake in Haiti.
Helplessness, is one word that comes to my mind, for I do experienced similar situation, when a member of my family was terminally ill, and waiting for my decision and advice as far as using extraordinary medical heroic procedures to prolong life.
When we feel helpless, we feel handicapped, cripple, unable to make a significant difference in the life of the one we love.
Remember, suffering people are oftentimes our best teachers. They show us the true meaning of patience, compassion and faith. And we need to be effective receiver and learners.
When someone we love suffers, we suffer also, and we would not have it otherwise, because the suffering and the love are one, just as it is with God's love for us.
Antiphon The Lord will save the children of the poor and rescue from the outcome of Haiti's earthquake.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins, and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy...........Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.............Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy...........Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 51 O rescue us, God our helper, and our tongue shall ring our your goodness. O lord open our lips and our mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm prayer We call upon your name, Father, and pronounce it blessed above the earth. Give your people the fullness of peace and justice in your kingdom. Amen
Almighty Father, remember all those who died esp Jerome Yap, and also N & N. May all the souls departed who sleep in Christ, find in your presence light, happiness and peace. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy and compassion on our suffering brothers and sisters, suffering from know malady. Heal them to wholeness of body and spirit, and relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen. Theotokos, pray for us and those who call on thee. Amen
Reflections: 1 Samuel 24:3-21 David refusal to kill Saul was not an example of cowardice but of courage. Courage to stand against the group who wanted him to kill Saul but instead David follow his conscience and did what he knew was right.
Don't comprise your moral standards by giving in to group pressure or taking the easy way out. In our Filipino politics here and abroad, we like to kill each other just to attain the title of being president of any organization. We must have a vision and leave a tangible legacy to be emulated by our future predecessors and the organization that we served. Be a nation builder towards, industrialization, peace and justice.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions, and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day and be innovative. Deacon Gary
Thanks for all your congratulatory notes. That keep me inspired to go on His way.
LET'S PRAY FOR UNITED CHRISTIANS, HEBREWS AND MUSLIMS, WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS.egv010
