Today is Sunday 24th January 2010.
I have some pictures of Egypt in the Facebook.
Still Egypt is in our mind. Its history goes back to 5500 BCE in its pre-dynastic period. The Chinese Neolithic civilization goes back to 10,000 BCE while Hindu goes back about 4000 BCE. This figures are taken from Waikiki encyclopedia.
I mentioned the above because I was fascinated when I was in grammar school with the wonders of the world. Among them are Pyramids, Great Walls of China, and Tai Majal of India which was built in much later century of our time.
Now I could say, I saw and walk on the great walls of China, and saw the interior of the pyramids and temples of Egypt, our next stop would be Taj Majal or Russia.
Antiphon The Lord our mighty God now reigns supreme, let us rejoice and be glad and give him praise. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for this glorious weekend, lets call to mind our sins, and ask God for forgiveness, for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive our sins and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 93 The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed; the Lord has robed himself with might, he has girded himself with power.
Psalm-prayer All power and all authority in heaven and on earth have been given to you, Lord Jesus; you rule with decrees that are firm and trustworthy. Be with us always so that we may make disciples whose holiness will be worthy of your house. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember those who have died esp. UN Staffer, Jerome Yap, Mindy Cadag, Leoncio Fabro. Look not on their mistake while on earth, but look at the goodness of their hearts. Bring them all to your abode with the light of your presence, and share them the happiness, peace and joy in your kingdom. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy and compassion on all those relatives and friends of ours who are now suffering from known malady. Bring them back to health, and spiritual holiness. Relieve their Fears, Pains and Anxieties Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm.Amen Theotokos, pray for us and all those who call on thee. Amen
Reflections: Nehemiah 8: 8-10 "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."
Celebration is not to be self-centered, Ezra connected celebration with giving. This give those in need an opportunity to celebrate as well.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Enjoy your weekend. Deacon Gary
