Today is Thursday 28th January 2010.
I will be in Manhattan to attend a religious seminar at 7AM. I will take the ferry and walk.
Hosea Chapter One and Two. God told Hosea to find a wife and revealed to him ahead of time that she would be unfaithful to him. Although she will would bear many children, some of these would not be his. In obedience to God, Hosea married Gomer. His relationship with her became living prophetic examples of Israel.
Hosea 2:7 She will chase after her lovers but not catch them; she will look for them but not find them. Then she will say, I will go back to my husband as at first, for them I was better off than now. Reflections: Gomer (the sinner) return to Hosea (God of Israel) for she realize she is better off with him. In like manner when we come to realized our mistakes we seek God's love, mercy, compassion, justice and peace. Returning to God out of desperation is better than rebelling against his will. It is always better to be faithful to your love one (fidelity) and enjoy the peace of God's grace.
Antiphon Most merciful Father, we praise you for your love, for you wondrously created us and even more wondrously restored us to grace. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy....................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord forgive our sins, and bring us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 99 You are a king who loves what is right; you have established equity, justice and right; you have established then in Jacob Exalt the Lord our God; bow down before Zion his footstool. He the Lord is holy.
Psalm prayer Lord God, your only Son wept over ancient Jerusalem, soon to be destroyed for its lack of faith. He established the new Jerusalem firmly upon rock and made it the mother of the faithful. Make us rejoice in your Church, and grant that all people may be reborn into the freedom of your Spirit. Amen.
Father remember all those who have died especially N & N. Bring all the departed faithful into your abode, and let them see your presence and enjoy the happiness and peace with your angels and saints in heaven. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy and have compassion on all our relatives and friends who are suffering from known ailments. Heal them to wholeness in body and spirit. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen. Theotokos, pray for us, and all those who call on thee. Amen.
Reflections: 2 Samuel 7:18-19, 24-29 "O Sovereign Lord, you have also spoken about the future of the house of your servant. Is this your usual way of dealing with man. O Sovereign Lord?" The future of the house is the salvation that would come through David's line by the birth of the Messiah. David's line will continued and the Messiah will be born as his descendant. Also it will be our redemption through the forgiveness of our sins and that salvation are available through faith in Christ and Christ resurrection.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our individual intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Stay connected and enjoy the day, Deacon Gary
