Today is Saturday 6th February 2010.
Theology of Silence
Prayer in silence, is called meditation and when done properly, you will feel your relationship with the Almighty, and your inner-self, in a satisfying, rewarding, strengthening yet relaxing state. This is the moment when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and leave you a message. After reading Buddha's life, I found that he entered into a deep meditation, called Nervana where he received his enlightenment. I too experienced a state of, near Nervana on our way to Assisi 2002, when I received my calling to serve the Lord. I just finished my term of office as District Governor of the Lions Club international, and I am still recuperating from fracture shoulder and sprained neck, when, in solitude, St. Francis and St. Padre Pio, said "Gary we have been waiting for you." Then they showed me the graces they gave me, and I started to cry. My feeling was not joy, but sadness and confusion. My journey towards spirituality started. Then I found out the meaning of my Nervana, I then pursue to be a permanent deacon of the Roman Catholic Church. At this point let me share with you the lyrics of a song titled "Silence of the Night." by TimoTolkki.
Here I am listening to the silence of the night I know. My life will never be the same again Still I am strangely calm Lying here in the silence of the night.
All these years I've had this strange feeling that I'm waiting for, Something I just can't explain and maybe now my time has come, Lying here in the silence of the night.
All my fears, my hopes my pain All these years, these tears, my shame, Could there be something good for me. Lying here in the silence of the night. Can you share your reflections or story? Please reply.
Antiphon Lord, teach me your statutes. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey of our weekends, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy Christ have mercy...............Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us all to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 90 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your truth in the watches of the night, on the ten-stringed lyre and the lute, with the murmuring sound of the harp.
Psalm prayer: Take our shame away from us, Lord, and make us rejoice in your saving works. May all who have been chosen by your Son always abound in works of faith, hope and love in your service. Amen.
Almighty Father, bring all those relatives and friends of our who have died to your abode, with your angels and saints in heaven. May your presence bring light, happiness and peace to all of them. Amen
Lord Jesus, be merciful and compassionate on all those relatives and friends of our who are suffering from known malady esp. Estelle Levinson. Relieve them the fears, pains and anxieties including those of their love ones, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power, and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm. Amen. Our Lady of Barangay, pray for us, and all who call on thee. Amen.
Reflections: Mark 6:30-34 The leadership of Jesus can be contrasted with that of Herod as a leader. Jesus is compassionate, healer, just and good, servant and king over all creation, while Herod is selfish, murderer, immoral, political opportunist and King over small territory. Think about that. Say one "Our Father, and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice weekends. Deacon Gary
