Theology of Wisdom
Although wisdom is often accompanied by intelligence and academic knowledge, the natural wisdom that is inherent to us all, is the ability to make sound choices and good decisions where prudence play a big role. Reflections: Lets say no body is perfect, but all of us learned from our mistakes and this is true with the uneducated primitive people, who develop their wisdom from observing others, by thinking for themselves how to improve their knowledge and understanding about living, and sustaining life for himself and his family.
The "wisdom literature" which we did explored in our studies in the past, can be an ongoing source for our personal and pastoral wisdom. Before Vatican II, because we were not encourage to read the bible, we did not pay much attentions to the benefit of reading Job, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes etc. We were mind set on sins, hell and purgatory, prayers and salvation's. Presently as we explore the Bible we automatically learn, sins, rewards, good and evil, how the justice of God come upon us, etc.
Please reflect on the above and reply. For our own spiritual benefit we will continue to read and study prophet Joel. Please open your bible and read on Joel.
Antiphon The man whose deeds are blameless and whose heart is pure will climb the mountain of the Lord.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy...............Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen. Psalm 24 The Lord's is the earth and its fullness, the world and all its peoples. It is he who set it on the seas; on the waters he made it firm.
Who is he, the king of glory? He, the Lord of armies, he is the king of glory.
Psalm prayer King of glory, Lord of power and might, cleanse our hearts from all sin, preserve the innocence of our hands, and keep our minds from vanity, so that we may deserve your blessing in your holy place. Amen
Almighty Father, remember our relatives and friends who have gone before us, bring them all to your abode with your angels and saints in heaven. May your presence bring light, happiness and joy. Amen.
Lord Jesus, have compassion and heal all those relatives and friends of ours who presently are suffering from known ailments, esp, Rodolfo Clemente, Lucy Waters, Becky Gonzalez, Alice Salud, Sonia Lee, Rob Aoroso, Baby Lucas, and Estelle Levinson. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties as we trust and believe in you. Amen
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen OL of Barangay pray for us and all who call on thee. Amen.
Reflections: Mark 7:1-13 This has to do with tradition in which the Pharisees strictly adhere upon. Jesus was not against traditions, but he was against those who made their traditions as important, if not more important than the "Words of God." Is there any Filipino religious traditions that we have to change? Must we change it by studying the Bible, esp the Wisdom Literature? Please reply.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions, and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
