Today is Thursday 11th 2010.
Theology of Crab mentality.
I was told about Filipino "Crab mentality" yesterday.
Although it is a frequently use to describe
an attitude of "why you..I am much better than you."
This is one of the capital sins, envy and jealousy.
If it happen among the crabs, it is common among
other ethnic groups beside Filipino. If the leader
is strong he/she will not be affected by this.
Reflections:
However many of those with short-sighted, non-constructive mind is afraid for others to succeed out of
jealousy and tend to pull each other down.
Filipinos are good hearted, industrious, and sincere, but need leadership guts and knowledge.
A strong leader is one, with a vision to succeed, has an independent mind, intelligent and courageous,
sincere and honest, must be able to persuade and do what is right for others in spite of opposition by those
with crab like mentality. A strong personality like Golda Myer, Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, to mention a
few should wake up, all those who want to lead in spite... surrounded by people with crab-mentality.
Jesus speak of leadership all the time to his apostles. To Peter he said "upon this rock (himself) I will built
my church." Do not be afraid, go to all nations and spread the good news, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.: Who are those with crab mentality during Jesus time? What can you say
about Filipino Crab Mentality? Please reply.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning!
To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins, and ask God for forgiveness for he is full
of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen

My soul lies down among lions,
who would devour the sons of men.
Their teeth are spears and arrows,
their tongue a sharpened sword.
Psalm prayer
Lord, send your mercy and your truth to rescue us from the snares of those with crab mentality, and we will
praise you among the peoples and proclaim you in the nations, happy to be known as companion of your
Son. Amen
Almighty Father, remember our relatives and friends who have died, bring them to your abode with the
angels and saints in heaven. May your presence bring them light, happiness and joy, Amen.
Lord Jesus, have compassion on all those who are presently ailing esp Rodolfo Clemente, Lucy Waters,
Becky Gonzales, Alice Salud, Sonia Lee, Rob Amoroso and Baby Lucas and Estelle Levinson, Relieve them
of fears, pains and anxieties brought about by their sickness. Amen
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm. Amen.
OL Barangay, pray for us and all who call on thee. Amen.
Reflections:
1King 11:4-13 Mark 7:24-30
Looking back at King Solomon, he did not follow through in his later years his God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob, so he lost everything. He must remain faithful to God up to the end. God must be in control of our
lives, there is no place for crab mentality either
In this gospel the Jews were prejudice with the Greeks. Jesus healed the woman's daughter, even though
she is a Greek and a gentle. The mercy and compassion of God's love is universal and not prejudice. His
leadership he shared with his apostles. Do not be afraid. Go.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Be careful with the snow, I hope I will not have problem shoveling.
