Today is Sunday 28th of February.
Have you read prophet Amos?
Amos The 9 chapters of the prophet Amos. He is the man of God.
The Lord roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem, the pastures of the shepherds dry up, and the top of Carmel withers.
Amos, foretold the wrath of Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edon, Amon, Moeb, Judah, Israel for their sins, "I will not turn back my wrath. Reflections: This is an Announcement of Judgment, for God requires truth and goodness, justice and righteousness from all people and nations today as well. Many of the conditions in Israel during Amos's time are evident in today's society.
Amos spoke against those who exploit or ignored the needy. Remember even in today's society God is calling all believers to work against injustices in society and to aid those less fortunate.
As Sister Helen Ojario, O.Carm said, "What we need today is Co-responsibility in leadership and shared in the gifts of each member of the Church. Our Church history is evolving and adjusting to the call of time and situation. Women are given more responsibilities and encourage to continue their search for wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I know so many women with Ph.D. in Theology. The Jewish now have female Rabbi, and the Protestant have women priest. Like those minor prophets, I could say our hierarchies recognizes the capabilities of women in their spiritual journey. Now in the Philippines because of Filipinization, almost all institutions are being run by Filipinos. Our UST "Rector Magnificus" is a Filipino. It is up to all of us to show leadership and for sure will be liberated, as a country under colonial mentality, as a minority trying to survive, and with women who has guts, and intelligence.
Let me share a poem we studied in High School by Longfellow: Art is long, and Time is fleeting. (Colonial Times) And our hearts, though stout and brave. Still like muffled drums are beating (we show cowardice) Funeral marches to the grave.(we were taken for granted)
In the world's broad field of battle,, In the bivouac of life, Be not like dumb, driven cattle Be a hero in the strife. (This is what we need)
Trust no future, however pleasant, Let the dead Past bury its dead! Act, ..act in the living Present! Heart within, and God o'er head. What is your opinion? How does the poem fits to our situations? Please reply. Antiphon Wait for the Lord with courage; be stouthearted and wait for the Lord. My brothers and sisters, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for this Sunday journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy.................Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy..................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.................Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord, have mercy on us, forgive our sins and lead us to life everlasting, Amen
Psalm 118 I was hard-pressed and was falling but the Lord came to help me.The Lord is my strength and my song; he is my savior. There are shouts of joy and victory in the tents of the just.
Psalm prayer: Let cries f joy and exultation's ring out from its tents, to celebrate the wonder of Christ resurrection, Amen.
Father, remember those relatives and friends of ours who have died. Bring them all to your presence of light happiness and joy.
Lord Jesus, touch all those who are suffering from illnesses today. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen OL Barangay, pray for us and all who call on thee, Amen.
Reflections: Luke 9: 28-36 Peter grew in his understanding and eventually he would write of Jesus as the "chosen and precious cornerstone of the Church.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Enjoy, Deacon Gary

Psalm 43 From the prayer desk of Rev. Deacon Gary

Today is Tuesday 2nd of March 2010.
Image of God
If you know how God's looks, then you will believe in the existence of God. Concepts vs Revelations In response to Dr. Max Rallon's E-mail. God created man in the image and likeness of his intellect. Thus it is our intellect that search and conceived the wisdom, the knowledge and the understanding of God. As this intellect develop and matures, we appreciate the manifestations of higher being, creator and mover of all things surrounding us.
It is not by insecurities and superstitions that we believe and understand God. God reveal himself through the beautiful manifestations of his works that men has not duplicated.
In reality our intellect, with "intelligent thinking capacity," accepted God's revelations, for which...God made known himself to us. In a sound mind, we appreciate, praise, and thanks God for making himself known to us in a way it is comprehensible..
Because of our sinfulness and of doubting God existence he sent his only beloved son, to teach us his kingdom, his compassion and forgiveness, and lead us to life everlasting.
Remember we are born blind, but with all the potential to see and discover the ways to God through our intellect. egv10
It would be hard and difficult for an intelligent man to enter heaven if he himself denies the existence of God, like the agnostics.
Antiphon Lord, send forth your light and your truth. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy...............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy...............Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us all to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 43 Defend me, O God, and plead my cause against a godless (thinking) nation. From deceitful and cunning men rescue me, O God.
Psalm prayer: Almighty Father, source of everlasting light, send forth your truth into our hearts and pour over us the brightness of your light. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember those who have died, Jose "Peping Salvador' and Herminigildo Mendiola, that you will let them see your vision of light, happiness and joy. Amen
Lord Jesus, heal all those suffering from known ailments. Make them whole in spirit as well as in their physical body. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen. OL Barangay pray for us and all who call on thee, Amen.
Reflections: Matthew 23: 1-12 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbled himself will be exalted. Jesus challenge our today's society. To him greatness comes from serving...giving of ourselves to help God and others. Service keeps us aware of others needs, and it stops us from focusing only on ourselves. Remember Jesus came as a servant. Then tell me what kind of greatness do you seek? Please reply.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary," for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
