"Prophet Obadiah" This is the shortest book in the Old Testament. Very little is known about Obadiah which means servant or worshiper of God. At present tourist can visit the old nation Edom. The people then is call Edomites, and Petra one of the wonders of the world today can be reached by any tour that goes to Egypt or Israel.
Prophet Obadiah gave God's message to the Edomites probably 853 and 841 B.C. during the reign of Jeroram in Judah or during the ministry of Jeremiah. His message from God to the Edomites is as follows: ..."Because of your indifference to and defiance of God, their cowardice and pride, and their treachery toward their relatives in Judah, they stood condemned and would be destroyed.
As you read Obadiah, reflect on what it means to be God's children for God's love will protect all of us who believe on Him, and follow his precepts. For we are his Church and the gates of hell will not prevail. Try to analyze and reflect on Obadiah's two chapters.

Reflections: Luke 4: 24-30 I tell you the truth, no prophet is accepted in his hometown. Even today many do not accept Jesus as our savior, our Messiah. As for me, many of my friends still cannot believe that I become a deacon and serving at mass. This brothers and sisters of mine are always included in my prayers.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
