Today is Monday 15th of March 2010.
Theology of Brokenness. This will be followed by wholeness and reconciliation, in the succeeding issues There are numerous causes of brokenness. We can say brokenness in family relationship, in self identity, professionalism, with friends, with peers, political party affiliation and existing religious belief.
Yes, brokenness is about us, about our ways, our doubts and bad experiences in life that causes disintegration of our personality and ego.
Brokenness is a pastoral dilemma because we are dealing with the psychological aspect of a person. Reflections: Psalm 51:16,17 says: You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. A person with a contrite heart is not afraid to admit his/her mistakes and gladly would say "I am sorry." This word heals relationship between two person estrange to each other.
In the prodigal son, that was read yesterday the brokenness end up with forgiveness and feasting. David the adulterer, Saul of Tarsus, a murderer of early Christian showed brokenness and went into repentance, and God accepted and forgive them. Can you comment on Mary Magdalene? please reply. Antiphon Lord, I put my trust in you; I shall be glad and rejoice in your mercy, because you have seen my brokenness, my affliction. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare for this Lenten journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy............... Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy................... Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy............... Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive our sins and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 5 You hate all who do evil; you destroy all who lie. The deceitful and bloodthirsty man the Lord detests.
Lead me, Lord, in your justice, because of those who lie in wait; make clear your way before me. For I am a victim of brokenness.
Psalm prayer Lord, all justice and all goodness come from you; you hate evil and abhor lies. Lead us, your servants in the path of your justice, so that all who hope in you may rejoice with the Church and in Christ. Amen
Almighty Father, remember all those who have died, our relatives and friends, bring them into your abode, with your angels and saints in heaven. Show to them your presence and light them in happiness and peace, Amen.
Lord Jesus, have mercy on all those who are suffering from known malady. Touch them with your healing hand, and relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen
Holy Spirit, giver of life, power, and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm. Amen OL Barangay, pray for us, and all those who call on thee. Amen
Reflections:John 4:43-54, "Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonder, you will never believe." In this incident, a government official had faith that Jesus could do what he claimed. The official believed, then he saw a miraculous sign.
We too could be healed of our brokenness, have faith and contrite heart. Say I am sorry to those you offended and established again mutual understanding and relationship.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a pleasant day, Deacon Gary
