Today is Saturday 27th of March 2010.
Theology of... Reconciliation following Conversion,
The question is how could you be reconciled if you have no knowledge what and why we have to be reconciled?
Deuteronomy 4: 30-31 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him. For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers which he confirmed to them by oath.
Reflections: Conversion is a change for the better, but you cannot have the change if you don't know what you are heading into. After conversion you enter the reconciliation process also known as "Sacrament of Initiation."
We are all searching to know God. For God is knowable and like to be known. This remind me of RCIA. (The Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults.) Those candidates for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist underwent intensive studying as to who, what, God is all about, and the connection of the Old with the New Scriptures as written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The process is conversion and runs for one year, and on Easter Vigil they all received the Sacrament of Initiation.
Antiphon Lord, do not stay away; come quickly to help me! I am a worm and no man: men scorn me, people despise me. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for the Holy Week, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness, for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy.............. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy................ Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.............. Lord have mercy.
May the Good Lord have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen
Psalm 92 Your deeds, O Lord, have made me glad; for the work of your hands I shout with joy. O Lord, how great are your works! How deep are your designs! The foolish man cannot know this and the fool cannot understand. Psalm prayer Take our shame away from us, Lord, and make us rejoice in your saving works. May all who have been chosen by your Son always abound in works of faith, hope and love in your service. Amen
Almighty Father, remember all our relatives and friends who have died that they will be in your abode, with your angels and saints in heaven. May your presence bring light, happiness and peace. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy on all our relatives and friends who are suffering from known illness, they all need your healing touch especially Sister Rosario Villanueva, O.P. , Sister Helen Ojario, O. Carm. and Rodolfo Clemente. May you relieve them of their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power an wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm. Amen OL Barangay, pray for us and all who call on thee. Amen.
Reflections: John 11: 45-56 "Here is this man performing many miraculous signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation." Those eyewitnesses believe on Jesus miracles but because of the disturbances created by the people... they were afraid to displease the Romans. What happen, ... they know they were wrong but pride prevails and they rejected the power behind the divinity of Jesus.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of prayers.
Make your Holy Week a time for healing of our relationship with those we offended. Deacon Gary
