Noted educator gives PGMA ‘B’ or ‘85 percent’ in governance

Noted educator and former De La Salle University (DLSU) president Brother Rolando Dizon, FSC, is giving President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a grade of B or 85 for her performance as head of state, asserting at the same time that she will eventually be vindicated from the negative impressions by her critics.
In a press briefing today in Malacanang, Bro. Dizon, a former Commission on Higher Education( CHED) chairman, said President Arroyo’s management style , leadership and her achievements make her different from some of her predecessors .
Bro. Dizon even described President Arroyo as the “most intelligent President”, also because of her performance in international conferences.
The DLSU president was present during a press meeting in Malacanang presided by Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Charito Planas.
Dizon titled his briefing “Arroyo’s legacy as an educator.”
Dizon said his briefing was an objective evaluation on President Arroyo’s performance as the country’s head of state and his observations were focused on Arroyo’s management style, leadership and achievements.
Bro. Dizon also called the President “a strong leader with a vision “ while stressing that her remarkable work ethic and political will have been displayed even with the controversies hounding her administration.
Bro. Dizon commended the President for not interfering with his job as CHED chairman so that he was able to focus on his job and implement programs to improve higher education sector.
Several positive achievements of the Arroyo administration, which Bro. Dizon highlighted during the briefing, were the enactment of the expanded value added tax, infrastructure initiatives, housing, information technology, and employment generation.
