Courage IV
Courageous ... "All three ways is just one way." Self-efficacy an attitude of confidence in youself as you know very well you can do or achieve your goals. Means-efficacy is your feeling that you have the tools to do the job and be successful. Divine Help unlike self-efficacy you have a strong spiritual belief that with prayers and the power of the Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, he will guide you and be able to do your job successfully.
St. Paul's attitude: We are all aware that Saul went to Damascus to persecute the Christians in the City. That in itself showed us Paul's "Self and Means-efficacy" attitude and that was a courageous act...however what happen the Divine Interventions was so powerful that, Paul went into a complete turn around and Christianity made s new beginning not from the Apostles but from Saul a pagan from Tarsus. Reflections: I would consider myself a successful physician, and community leader in 1970-2000. I became a Medical Director of Lutheran Hospital, East New York, President of the Medical Board, at first, at Lutheran then at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, St. Mary's Hospital, an Assistance Professor of Internal Medicine at SUNY Brooklyn, President of the Medical Association, PMAA, ACIP, Philippine College of Physicians, USA, Royal Pontifical UST MAA NY, and Lions Clubs International District Governor of New York and Bermuda etc. but within myself, I have a spiritual vacuum. For me there is something missing in my Catholic belief.
It seems that in spite of my successes, I am struggling to resolve something around me, something that I am longings, a challenge that was deeply rooted in me. It happen when my youngest son was between life and death, it happen when I got almost blind, with progressive corneal keratitis, leading to blindness. It happen when I had a fall in a liquor store trying to purchase the best wine for my guest at my Lions Club International Testimonials in my honor. Through the intercession of Padre Pio, a Franciscan Monk, all those incident was answered in my favor.
Antiphon I will be a witness to you in the world, O Lord. I will spread the knowledge of your name among my brothers and sisters, alleluia.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.....................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy.
May the Good Lord, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 108 O come and deliver your friends: help with your right hand and reply, From his holy place God has made this promise: "I will triumph and divide the land of Shechem; I will measure out the valley of Succoth.
Psalm prayer Accept the prayers of your servants, Lord, and prepare our hearts to praise your holy name. Come to our aid in times of trouble, and make us worthy to sing you songs of thanksgiving. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember all those relatives and friends of our who have died, bring them to your abode, and show them your presence, light, happiness and peace. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy and have compassion on all those relatives and friends who are suffering from known ailments especially Sister Rosario, Pol V, Rodolfo Clemente ans Naty Aventura. Relieve them from fears, pain and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen OL Barangay pray for us, and all who call on thee. Amen
Reflections: John 12:44-50 When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.
Many people wonder how God looks like. Jesus said plainly those who see him, see God who sent him. So Jesus looks like anyone of us in disguise.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of our prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
