Courage VI
Philippians 1:20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful lavor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know. I am torn between the two:
Reflections: Although I am sad and confused, I know what I am doing. My wife asked me why all of a sudden I have a change from joy to sadness, and confussion. So I told her "the call" in the bus. She ask me, "Are you leaving me?" I said... "no, we are married for life."
On our way back to New York, she ask me again "Are you leaving me?" I said, "no, we are married." I said to my self "only Msgr. Oscar Aquino can interpret this incidence for me."
I called and spoke with Msgr. Aquino. He said, "Gary you are called to be a deacon." Ask your pastor to get the application for you. We have a permanent deacon in my parish."
My problem now is Fr. Golino, he does not want any priest in his parish, worse if it will be a deacon. So I tried a trick question after a Sunday Mass. I said "Father would you like to have a deacon?" He answer me "Yes, do you know anybody?" I said, I need you to sponsor me." So the process started.
If God wanted us to build an enduring faith within us, we have to be persevering through life's trying times, and we need to be strong and courageous. I am aware I am not qualified to be a deacon because I have pass the age limit to be qualified. Any how I did filled up the applications and ask Fr. Golino to mail them. It is my wife who is anxious about the process. All I have in mind, is if I got the calling, then I have to trust St. Padre and St. Francis, they know what they are doing.
To be continue: Antiphon I am the way and the truth and the life, says the Lord, no ones comes to the Father except through me.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy.................Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.....................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.................Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 51 Give me again the joy of your help: with a spirit of fervor sustain me, that I may teach transgressors your ways and sinners may return to you.
Psalm prayer Look upon our contrite heart and afflicted spirit and heal our troubled conscience, so that in the joy and strength of the Holy Spirit we may proclaim your praise and glory before all the nations. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember all those relatives and friends of us, who have died. Bring them to your abode, and show them your presence, light, happiness and peace. Amen.
Lord Jesus, have mercy and have compassion on Sister Rosario, Rodolfo Clemente and all those who ask me to pray for them. Heal their physical and spiritual illness. Relieve their fears, pains and axieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide, and guard us from harm. Amen OL Barangay, pray for us, and all those who call on thee, Amen.
Reflections: John's Gospel 14:1-6 Jesus answered: I am the way and the truth and the life.
1. Jesus says I am the way to God the Father. The way is narrow and rough, so we have to trust and believe in him [Jesus] for he prepared for us a better way to his father. 2. Jesus is the truth, he is in realities. that, what it is to be believinmg in his words. 3. Jesus is the life, that means we have to join him in his teaching inorder to enter the gates of heaven. That we must emulate him on earth to be in heaven.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice weekend, Deacon Gary
