Today is Monday 3rd May 2010.
Courage IX Acts 23:11 Take courage ! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.
In the vision of Paul, the Lord said, "Don't be afraid spread the "Good News" not only in Jerusalem, but all over the world. During that time, Rome is practically all over the world.
Reflections: While I was in the ER of St. Vincent Hospital, SI, the voice came back to me and said "you must be a deacon." I thought it was a command. After I got better [from low back sprain] I call Deacon Cassaneto and he advise me to see him in his office. On the appointed day it raining so heavy, that it took me 3 hours to reach the seminary just to have a brief dialogue with Deacon Cassaneto.
A three way conversation with Rev. Fr. Cichon ended with an appointed to have a conference together in person in 2 weeks time.
Fr. Cichon accompanied me, and treated me for a good lunch. Deacon Cassaneto has a total change of heart, learning my situation with Fr. Golino. I went to different churches in the Island because I am looking for spiritual growth which is absent in my relationship with Fr. Golino. I serve at Holy Rosary parish for RCIA, lectorship at St. Ann, etc etc.
Upon my return to the diaconate, I am in the fourth year with the candidate for ordinations. and the other classes in the Third and Second year.
Courage and perseverance prevails within me. I would wake up 5 AM to go to work, at 4PM I am on the road to the seminary, and would be home by 11:30 -12 PM Monday, Wednesday and some Fridays. Weekends I spend 8 hours doing hospital pastoral care.
In March 2006, I was admitted at Jamaica Hospital for anaphylaxis. It is a dreadful form of systemic allergic reaction from an insect bites from a patient who just came from Latin America.
I survive this incidence, and because I don't like to miss my classes I advise my attending to discharge me.
I would consider myself with a lot of courage, enduring and persevering attitude, hard to conquer by evil ones. How could I fail, if like Saint Paul, the Lord walk with me and I walk with him. I did very well in class, and I was ordained June 7, 2008.
Antiphon Whoever thirsts will drink freely of life-giving water, alleluia. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness of he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy....................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy................Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 63 For your love is better than life, my lips will speak your praise. So I will bless you all my life, in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul shall be filled as with a banquet, my mouth shall praise you with joy.
Psalm prayer Father, creator of unfailing light, give that same light to those who call to you. May our lips praise you; our lives proclaim your goodness, our works give you honor, and our voices celebrate you forever. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember all our relatives and friends who have died, bring them all to your abode, show them your presence, light, happiness and peace, Amen.
Lord Jesus, have mercy and have compassion to our relatives and friends who are sick and ask me to pray for them, like Sister Rosario, and Rodolfo Clemente. Heal them both physically and spiritually as you relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm. Amen. OL Barangay pray for us and all those who call on thee, Amen.
Reflections; John 14:6-14 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust in me. etc.
Jesus words show that the way to eternal life, though unseen, is secure...as secure as you trust in Jesus. He has already prepared the way to eternal life. The only issue here is your willingness to believe.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
