Today is Monday 10th May 2010.
Discipline Strengthened Our Will Power.
Proverbs 10:17 12:1 He who heeds discipline show the way of life,...but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, ...but he who hates correction is stupid. Reflections When you teach and control yourself in the direction of getting ahead of others then you become astute and your "will power" become stronger.
If you don't want to learn, no matter how much reading you do, you will learn only little. But if you want to be taught, there is no end to what you can learn. This include being willing to accept discipline and correction and to learn from the wisdom of others.
The person who could not take constructive criticism has a problem of pride. Such person is unlikely to learn very much.
If you will notice proverbs is concerned with learning wisdom, and proverbs encourages us to make the right choice. Antiphon The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord, and you also will testify. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins, and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy................. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy...................... Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy................. Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 42 My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life; when can I enter and see the face of God?
Psalm prayer Almighty Father, inspire us to yearn for you always, like the deer for running streams, until you satisfy every longing in heaven, Amen.
Almighty Father, remember all our relatives and friends who have died, bring them all to your abode, in heaven. Show them your light, presence and peace, Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy on all those who are sick and suffering especially Sister Rosario, Nonoy M, Rodolfo Clemente, and all those who ask me to pray for them. Lord Jesus, relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen OL Barangay pray for us, and all who call on thee, Amen
Reflections: John 15:26...16:4 When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.
Here again the Holy Spirit will gives strength to endure the unreasonable self inflicted problems of ours like fears and anxieties.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions, and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary

Psalm 150 From the prayer desk of Rev. Deacon Gary

Today is Sunday 9th May 2010.
"Heavenly Mother Mary, Our Mother."
The real Blessed Mother advocate for the Filipinos is OL of Barangay, also known as Blessed Mother of the Community. It is not OL of Antipolo, since it was brought to Manila, from Mexico during the Gallon Trade of 1662-1683. It was known as the Virgin for good voyage because during the Gallon Trade, Spanish Traders pray to the Blessed Mother for safe voyage in the pacific ocean. It is black with Mexican features.
I believe it is time for the Filipinos, to popularized our very own OL Barangay and have St. Joseph St. Thomas Church to be the center of her devotion.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
Reflections from Pope John Paul II: Theotokos, Mother of God, is also the mother of humanity. In Pope John Paul II, book "Crossing the Threshold of Hope," he said, The Renewal of Marian Theology and devotion...in the community with Catholic tradition...is another distinctive characteristic of the teaching and pastoral activity for the Blessed Mother. "Totus Tuus" ("I am completely yours, O Mary") is the motto he chose for his papacy.
Totus Tuus, This phrase is not only an expression of piety, or simply an expression of devotion. It is more. During the Second World War while I was employed as a factory worker, I came to be attracted to Marian devotion. At first, it had seemed to me that I should distance myself a bit from the Marian devotion of my childhood, in order to focus more on Christ. Thanks to Saint Louis of Montfort, I came to understand that true devotion to the mother of God is actually rooted in the Mystery of the Blessed Trinity. and the mysteries of Incarnation and Redemption.
The devotion to OL Barangay has been going on, at St. Joseph-St Thomas since the time of Msgr. Peter Finn, but it was only a devotion of some few families every 1st Saturday of each month. As of this time the devotees are increasing in number and the Church at Saint Joseph is almost full during the 1st Saturday devotion.
Presently the group of Filipino priest with Msgr Edmund Whalen will celebrate the feast of OL Barangay with a procession on August 7, 2010. Preparing the procession is now underway with the Filipino devotees, making the plan and preparation as a great occasion in the Island
Antiphon This is the day which the Lord has made, to honor the mother of humanity, Alleluia. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning! To prepare ourselves this weekend, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy..................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy..............Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 150 Praise God to his holy place, praise him in his mighty heaven. Praise him for his powerful deeds, praise his surpassing greatness.
Praise him for giving us the Mother of Jesus, Theotokos, the Mother of God, we praise your Son, for his mercy and compassion.
Psalm prayer Lord God, maker of heaven and earth and all created things, you make your just ones holy and you justify sinners who confess your name. Hear us as we humbly pray to you: give us eternal joy with your saints.
Almighty Father, bring all our relatives and friends who have died to your abode, and may your presence bring light, happiness and peace, Amen.
Lord Jesus, have mercy and compassion to our relatives and friends who are suffering from know illness, esp Sister Rosario, Rodolfo Clemente, Nonoy Mendoza, and all those who ask me to pray for them. Relieve their fears, pains and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen. OL Barangay, pray for us and all those who call on thee. May you inspire us to prepare your feast well with many participating devotees. Amen.
Reflections: John 14:23-29 You heard me say, "I am going away and I am coming back to you."
As God the Son, Jesus willingly submits to God the Father. On earth, Jesus also submitted to many of the physical limitations of his humanity.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary," for our own intentions and the healing intention of this prayers.
Have a nice weekend, and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS ! Deacon Gary
