Success with Mother's Discipline, A True Story.
Proverbs 13:6. 24 Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him Reflections: I was talking with Lito D. yesterday and we were on the subject of Discipline. He made the bio account of Manny Pacquiao, "The Fighter of the Decade" 2000-2009. The first boxer in history to win seven world titles in seven different weight division, the "Fighting Pride of the Philippines."
Pacquiao parents got separated when he was in the 6th grade. He was a high school dropped out due to extreme poverty. At age 14 he left his home because his mother could not support six children and he just felt he could be his father replacement, He started his professional boxing at the age of 16 and he weighed 106 pounds then.
His mother has the greatest influence on his spirited success. Pacquiao a Roman Catholic never cease praying as he was advised by his mother.
For me Pacquiao aside from his mother disciplinary influence, was destined to win and liberate his family from poverty. His success was attributed to his self-discipline and meditation, on how to win under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As of now Pacquiao won the Philippine election for being a congressman representing his province.
For me, it is not easy for a loving mother to discipline a child, but probably it was necessary for Pacquioa then. This is the greatest responsibility that God gives his mother to nurture and guide him. Here discipline is an act of love, and direction to an adolescent child of 16. Truly God acts on a mysterious ways and his mother's prayers give him courage to win, aside it is also his personality to fight, and not to give up. As Pacquioa win he share it with the poor Filipinos towards education. If you know of a story similar to above, please reply.
Antiphon Let us shout out our joy and happiness, and give glory to God, the Lord of all, because he is our King, alleluia.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins, and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy.............. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.................. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.............. Lord have mercy.
May the good Lord, have mercy on us, forgive our sins and lead us to life everlasting, Amen
Psalm 43 O send forth your light and your truth; let these be my guide. Let them bring me to your holy mountain to the place where you dwell.
Psalm prayer Almighty Father, source of everlasting light, send forth your truth into our hearts and pour over us the brightness of your light. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember those relatives and friends of ours who have died, bring them to your abode, and may your presence bring them light, happiness and peace, Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy on all those who are suffering from known illnesses, especially Sister Rosario, Nonoy M., Rodolfo Clemente. Heal them of their ailments, and relieve their fears, pains, and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm, Amen. OL Barangay pray for us, and all those who call on thee.
Reflections; John 16:5-11 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
If he did not go back to the Father, the Holy Spirit would have not come, so we will not have what is known as Pentecost. The gifts of the Holy Spirit which is COURAGE, self DISCIPLINE, ENDURANCE AND PERSEVERANCE will not be available freely for us at baptism and confirmation.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
