Prayer for Seafarers Heavenly Father: we pray to You for those on perilous ocean that You will embrace them with your mighty protection and grant them success in all their rightful undertakings.
Grant them in all hours of need to see that they have a God who remembers them, and grant them grace in the hour of danger to commit their souls into Your hands.
O Lord Jesus Christ, Who can rebuke the storm and bring it to silence, and lay the roaring waves to rest, show them who call to You out of the deep that You hear their prayers and will save them. And finally bring us all to the only safe port, Amen.
This came from the Catholic Prayers on line. The question that I have now, is how would I introduce the above prayers to the crew members of the ship?
Now my idea would be leave this prayer on the table. Probably someone will pick it up and then introduce it to the group. Antiphon God is the strength of his people. In him, we his chosen live in safety. Save us, Lord, who share in your life, and give us your blessing: be our shepherd forever. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Good Morning ! To prepare ourselves for today's journey, lets call to mind our sins and ask God for forgiveness for he is full of gentleness and compassion.
Lord have mercy.............Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy................Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.............Lord have mercy.
May the Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive our sins, and lead us to life everlasting, Amen.
Psalm 108 I will thank you, Lord, among the peoples, among the nations I will praise you, for your love reaches to the heavens and your truth to the skies. O God, arise above the heaven; may your glory shine on earth.
Psalm prayer Accept the prayers of your servants, Lord, and prepare our hearts to praise your holy name. Come to our aid in times of trouble, and make us worthy to sing you songs of thanksgiving. Amen.
Almighty Father, remember all those who have died with the sign of faith especially our relatives and friends who where baptized in your name. May your Father presence bring light happiness and peace to all of them. Amen
Lord Jesus, have mercy and compassion on all those suffering from known malady. Heal them back to their physical and spiritual wholeness especially Sister Rosario V; Rodolfo C; and all those who ask me to pray for them. Relieve their fears, pains, doubts, anger and anxieties, Amen.
Holy Spirit giver of life, power and wisdom, be our guide and guard us from harm especially all the seafarers, Amen
OLBarangay, pray for us, and all who call on thee, Amen
Reflections: Matthew 7:15-20 Thus by their fruit you will recognize them.
When Jesus talk about bad trees, he means teachers who could not impart wisdom to their students. It could also mean Chaplain's who could not deliver good pastoral care.
To improve in our ministry, we must continue to learn, learn, learn from others how they become successful Chaplain.
Say one "Our Father and Hail Mary" for our own intentions and the healing intentions of this prayers.
Have a nice day, Deacon Gary
