July 14, 2010 Proclaimed as Willy C. Gaa Day in San Diego and National City in California

WASHINGTON, DC 21 JULY 2010 - Two Mayors from California signed a proclamation designating July 14,
2010 as “Ambassador Willy C. Gaa Day”.
Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa visited San Diego on July 14, 2010 to receive the
“Felipe Agoncillo Global Filipino Award” from the Philippine American Business Improvement and Development
(Phil Am BID). During the awarding ceremony, Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego presented a City Proclamation
declaring July 14, 2010 as “Philippine Ambassador Willy C. Gaa Day.”
Mayor Ron Morrison of National City likewise presented a Proclamation declaring July 14, 2010 as “His
Excellency Willy C. Gaa Day.” The Proclamation stated that, “his Excellency Willy C. Gaa has dedicated a lifetime
of service to the Philippine community throughout the world.”
Ambassador Gaa served as Philippine Consul General in Los Angeles before his appointment as Philippine
Ambassador to the United States.
