SEC NICHOLSON GIVES $0 .5M FAREWELL GIFT TO VMMC
The Honorable R. James Nicholson, Secretary of the US Department of Veterans Affairs
announced the grant of another $ 500,000 to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center several
days prior to his departure from the Department. He made this announcement during a
meeting with Ambassador Willy C. Gaa on September 24. Secretary Nicholson has previously
given grants-in-aid for the past two years in the amount of $500,000 a year. In April 2006
Secretary Nicholson made a trip to the Philippines to visit the VA Regional Office in Manila and
the American Battle Memorial in Ft Bonifacio. . While in Manila , he also visited Corregidor and
the Veterans Memorial Medical Center to inspect the VA installed dialysis machines. The
meeting was held at the USVA Headquarters in Washington DC .
