Leading Residential Lending Expert Grows Commercial Division to Meet Demand

December 4, 2008 – SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Due to a growing demand for lending products to fit the
commercial real estate market, San Diego-based Golden Equity Mortgage Corp (www.
goldenequitymortgage.com) has expanded its commercial division – GEM Commercial Lending.
Specifically focused on the needs of clients financing commercial and multi-family properties, GEM
Commercial Lending provides full-service loan consulting and origination for clients nationwide.
Newly appointed Executive Vice President and industry veteran Joy Hunner heads GEM Commercial
Lending. For the last 10 years, Hunner was Vice President and co-owner of Monterey Commercial Capital
in San Diego, where she specialized in marketing, packaging, underwriting and funding commercial real
estate loans through various lenders wholesale programs. Prior to her tenure with Monterey, Hunner spent
nearly 20 years in various loan and banking leadership positions, managing staffs of up to 100 at both the
branch and corporate level.
In her new role as Executive Vice President at GEM Commercial Lending, Hunner is responsible for the
management of and continued development of the company’s success in commercial lending, reaching out
to new clients and identifying new opportunities to better serve clients with existing commercial loans.
Joining Hunner at GEM Commercial Lending is Vice President Will Grant. Grant also comes to the
company with 30 years of experience in commercial lending, working most recently at Provident
Commercial Banking and Washington Mutual. Earlier this year Grant was named as one of the “Circle of
Leaders…Twenty Outstanding Filipinos Abroad” by Filipino Image Magazine. Grant began his commercial
lending career with Great American Bank and will work hand in hand with Hunner to assist clients and
identify new opportunities for growth in this rapidly expanding market.
