CHICAGO, Nov. 9 (PGON) - Well-known Filipina painter donates one of her major artworks titled
“Beyond Amber Waves of Grain” to the Philippine Consulate General as a thanksgiving for the
Consulate General’s providing a venue for her artworks exhibit last Sept. 21-28, 2007.
In presenting the artwork to Chicago’s Philippine Consul General Blesila C. Cabrera, the Filipina
artist, Tita Recometa-Brady, commended the Consul General for spearheading and encouraging
Filipino artists like herself. “Consul General Cabrera is always gracious and hospitable in
providing supports to anything that enhances positive Filipino image. The Philippine
Government should be very proud and fortunate to have a Philippine government’s
representative, in the person of Consul General Cabrera.”
The presentation was made last Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, during a break of the TOFA Past
Awardees first reunion held in this city and attended by two Philippine ambassadors: Philippine

Washington, D.C.; and Philippine Special Envoy, currently on leave and calling on Filipino
American community leaders around the country, Ambassador Lauro L. Baja, last year’s
Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations where he distinguished himself by
being elected for two separate times in a span of four years, as President of the powerful U.N.
Security Council. Ambassador
